ABOUT US

The Storytellers of Central Ohio are a dynamic group of men and women of all ages who believe in the power, the magic, and the wonder of storytelling in the oral tradition.
Founded in 1989 to promote the art of storytelling, and to foster the growth and development of storytellers, SOCO now plays an integral part in the world-wide renaissance of storytelling.
Stories are an important part of our lives. They tell us who we are, where we have been, and where we have yet to go. Stories are the glue that holds us all together.
Like storytellers of old, SOCO members now share their tales in schools, universitites, churches, senior citizen centers, civic groups, fairs and festivals, and special occasions everywhere.

SOCO is a member of the National Storytelling Network (NSN) and the Ohio Storytelling Network (OSN)

We meet monthly on the second Saturday morning, 9:30 am, from September through June. We are currently meeting at St Matthias School, 1566 Ferris Road (off Karl Road, south of Desales HS, north of Cooke Road).

SOCO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
