Founded in 1990 to promote the art of storytelling, and to foster the growth and development of storytellers, SOCO now plays an integral part in the world-wide renaissance of storytelling. Stories are an important part of our lives. They tell us who we are, where we have been, and where we have yet to go. Stories are the glue that holds us all together. Like storytellers of old, SOCO members now share their tales in schools, universitites, churches, senior citizen centers, civic groups, fairs and festivals, and special occasions everywhere. This site is a member of The Storytelling Ring. The Storytelling Ring allows you to visit other sites on the Internet that are dedicated to the art of storytelling. Each is connected to the others in a circle, allowing you to go from one to the other and finally back to the first by simply pressing the next button on each site.
